Core Strength Training Love Handle Exercises For Women

In this article, I will discuss some of the best exercises you can perform to get rid of your love handles. The following love handle exercises are all core exercises, which are going to build up the muscles in your midsection. These muscles include your abs, your obliques, your lower back and all of the small, core, muscle fibers that you didn't even know existed.
The Sidebend
A great exercise for targeting often overlooked muscles in your core is the side bend. Stand with your knees shoulder width apart with a dumbbell in each hand. Bend to one of your sides as far as you can without moving your legs. Squeeze your abs the entire time and return to the starting position. Repeat to your other side, and that's one complete repetition.
The Barbell Twist
To target your entire core you can also perform a barbell twist. Again stand with your feet shoulder width apart, this time resting a barbell on your shoulders. With your midsection tightened, turn to your right side pivoting on your left foot to allow for a full range of motion. Return to the starting position and perform in the opposite direction and that's one complete rep.
Lying Leg Raise
Of course there are also more traditional abdominal exercises you can perform as well. One favorite is the lying leg raise. Lie down with your back on the floor and your legs touching. Using your abs, raise your legs until they are at a 90 degree angle before slowly lowering them down to just a few inches off the ground.
You can also try variations on the standard crunch, like the bicycle crunch:
The Bicycle Crunch
A great way that really hits your abs and obliques is the bicycle crunch. Bring your left knee to your chest while you turn up to hit your right elbow to your knee. Alternate this motion as if you were pumping your legs while riding a bike.
