I had the opportunity to study the Truth About Abs book and to evaluate and to criticize the book. It took me a while to study and work trough the book, in order to bring you this Truth About Six Pack Abs review. Have a look at what I liked and agreed with and what I didn't like or disagreed with. It may help you to get a better understanding of the Truth About Abs book.
The Truth About Six Pack Abs review - likes and agreements
Here is what I do like and agree with
- 1. Interval training - The Truth About Abs suggests interval training for cardio. I agree that it is one of the best ways to burn body fat and calories.
- 2. No fad or restrictive diets - Luckily the Truth About Abs program is just as against fad diets as I am.
- 3. No weird combination of food or weird menus - I can assure you that the Truth About Abs meal plan menus have no weird or bland ingredients on it - just good and tasty healthy, normal food.
- 4. No food group or macronutrient are excluded from diet - Unlike fad diets, the Truth About Abs diet doesn't exclude any food group or macronutrient from the meal plan.
- 5. Detailed description of the exercises and photos of each - Each exercise had a detailed description and photo illustration with it - making the exercises easier and more doable.
- 6. Weight training is the best way to lose body fat - The book names weight training as the best exercise to burn body fat and I can't agree more.
- 7. Unique, different and effective exercises - I really like the unique and the different exercises. All of them target more than one body part - making them super effective.
- 8. The preference of free weights - You can use any weights you want, although Mike Geary prefers free weights over machines. I also find free weights more difficult than machines, but they are more effective and in the long run, also safer.
- 9. You don't need a gym or weights to do the exercises - You can do the Truth About Abs exercises without any machines or equipment. But equipment will make the program more effective. At the very least at least invest in some free weights and an exercise ball.
- 10. No more long hours of boring cardio - Mike Geary isn't a fan of long hours of cardio, neither am I.
- 11. Lots of different meal plans to try out - There is such a variety in the meal plans (72 of them), that you will never be bored for choice.
- 12. Includes a list of healthy food and their calorie contents - To teach you healthy eating habits, there are a list of the healthy foods you should include in your diet.
The Truth About Six Pack Abs review - dislikes and disagreements
Here is what I don't like or doesn't agree with
- 1. Meal plan examples won't suit everyone's calorie need - If your specific calorie needs is not the same as the meal plan's you may find that the meal plans won't suit you without some adjustments.
- 2. No calorie adjustment instructions - There are no instructions given on how to adjust the meal plans to give your daily calorie intake, which can make it difficult to adjust the plan to your specific needs.
- 3. Static meal plans - A static meal plan/meal examples are give. I would have liked a plan where they give the servings of foods you should have together with a list of the different food.
- 4. Saturated fats - Mike says that some of the saturated fats (like coconut oil and milk) are healthy. I don't like saturated fat and think that all of them are unhealthy and should be minimized (but that's just my opinion).
- 5. Exclusion of some exercises - The Truth About Abs exercise program say that you should avoid some exercises. But I think that any exercise is good exercise as long as it doesn't hurt you. But for the sake of the Truth About Abs program, follow the exercises that's prescribed - it will give the best results.
This "The Truth About Six Pack Abs" review has hopefully given you an idea of whether the Truth About 6 Pack Abs Program is right for you or not. I personally think it is a great program with very effective exercises and tasty, healthy food plans.
